Duties and Responsibilities: (Note: Enter the terms of reference for the service required and the relation to the units work programme. Cover all aspects of the work to be carried out, objectives, functions to be performed by listing the duties in bullet points starting with action verbs, and the reporting line (supervisor). You may also provide a project background as appropriate.) Under the general guidance of the Chief of Budget and Finance and direct supervision of the Associate Expert - Finance, the budget and finance assistant will perform the following functions:

Evaluation Criteria: Evaluations will be conducted on the basis of the following three UN Competencies: Professionalism, Teamwork and Client Orientation. |
Academic Qualifications: Completion of secondary education or equivalent is required. Supplementary training in field of accounting and finance or related fields is desirable.

Experience: Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience with completion of secondary education or, a minimum of 1 year of relevant work experience required with bachelor’s degree.
|
Language: English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this role, fluency in oral and written English is required. Working knowledge of other UN official languages is an asset.
