Urban Planning and Design Branch : Introducing Isabel Wetzel
It is my pleasure to introduce to you Ms. Isabel Wetzel. Isabel, a German national, has joined the Urban Planning and Design Branch as a JPO. She will support initiatives that strengthen UNEP – UN-Habitat collaboration and will therefore have an additional reporting line to UNEP. Her main task will be to advance the Greener Cities Partnership.

It is my pleasure to introduce to you Ms. Isabel Wetzel. Isabel, a German national, has joined the Urban Planning and Design Branch as a JPO. She will support initiatives that strengthen UNEP – UN-Habitat collaboration and will therefore have an additional reporting line to UNEP. Her main task will be to advance the Greener Cities Partnership.
Isabel has a Master of Science in Urbanization and Development from the London School of Economics and Political Science and a Bachelor of Arts focusing on International Politics and Environmental Studies, from the University College Maastricht, the Netherlands.
Prior to joining UN-Habitat, Isabel worked at the World Bank, supporting the implementation of various urban projects in West Africa dealing with decentralization reform, solid waste management and urban flood management. She previously also worked on urban land and housing issues.
