Minimum Operating Security Standards in Kenya

These Emergency Guidelines were primarily created with the upcoming March 2013 Kenyan elections in mind. The Government of Kenya supported by civil rights groups and International organizations are working hard to ensure that the election is democratic and free of violence. It is however important that UN
staff prepare for any eventualities that might occur. UN personnel would benefit from detailed guidelines about the security arrangements in place as well as how they can better prepare and act for their own safety and security during a crisis.
