Stephanie Loose has recently joined the REGIONAL AND METROPOLITAN PLANNING UNIT as Ass. Human Settlement Officer. 'At RMPU, Stephanie will be responsible for communications and reporting while supporting substantive areas of work particularly on National Urban Policy, Metropolitan Development and the International Guidelines on Urban and Territorial Planning.
Prior to her new assignment, she worked as supervisor of the Sub-Unit for Maintenance (within the Buildings and Engineering Section, Central Support Services) at the United Nations Office at Geneva (UNOG).
As focal point for Central Support Services for Special Events, this position included the coordination of support teams for mayor events happening at UNOG such as TEDx Place des Nations (2015/2016) and Open Day (2015) as well as supporting important consultations such as Syria Talks. She was also responsible for managing large scale contracts and three teams as well as day-to-day support for conferences, restructuring projects (logistics) and support of UN entities and Field Missions based in Geneva. In the first year of her assignment, she managed the logistics for a large renovation project (USD30 million), cooperating with the external architects and coordinating the project for UNOG.
Stephanie was in charge of the communication strategy for the Buildings and Engineering Section, implementing a Blog for the Section, editing and designing Blog entries and information material as well as promoting BES topics by producing a series of videos.
Before joining the UN in 2013, Stephanie worked as Public Information Specialist and responsible editor for two bilingual Corporate Communication Magazines. As Consultant for PI and Marketing, she had an assignment as Assistant Lecturer at the University of Applied Science Reichenbach and for several years, she advised large Architectural and Urban Planning firms in their outreach activities (from communication strategies, public information materials, press relations, corporate design and event management).
Stephanie has a diploma in Architecture (Technical University Munich) and a post graduate education in Public Information and Marketing. She is a German national, having worked and lived in Germany, France, Switzerland and China in the last years.
